Below are projects/competitions completed by Damour Design:
Venice Pavilion-Competition:
The Venice Pavilion was a competition entered in 2007 by Elias Saleh prior to the establishment of Damour Design, while still a student at the University of Technology Sydney. The breif was for a proposal of a pavilion where people could gather and interact where events would be hosted as well as to be used as a gallery.
Residential House-Project:
The Residential House was a project submitted by Elias Saleh in the initial years of study at UTS. This was a response to a direct brief by a potential client which had specific requests. Model Making was used in this project and is a skill frequently utilised by Elias as a successful form of presentation to clients where they can begin to view the projects with a more realistic and hands on approach.
House For an Artist-Project:
A challenging project submitted by Elias Saleh at UTS in his initial years, proposing a building where 2 artists would live and work together. However they were to have their own separate living spaces, but also spaces that would also be shared by both artists.
Remote Island – Plastic Research & Accomodation Facilities:
The proposal was for a completely plastic building made from recycled plastic materials, to serve as a research facility as well as accommodation for scientists temporarily on an Island performing research on the environment and the nature and possibilities of recycled plastics from the Gyre (a location of condensed plastics floating in the ocean).
The University of Music and Arts- Broadway Sydney:
A project proposed by Elias Saleh at UTS for the University of Music and Arts at Broadway. The design incorporated the linearity of the site with a fluid program and flow through the building, however interrupted at its center by a sculptural element running through the building from ground to top, acting as an atrium and breaking the linear flowing nature and creating cafes, gathering and interactive spaces at its center.
Sustainable & Environmental Green High Rise Building – Sydney City:
The final project presented by Elias Saleh in his Master Studio at UTS, receiving Distinctions for the proposal he explored ways in which a commercial high rise office building could be designed to be sustainable and environmental, where Sky Gardens are created and natural ventilation and sunlight is utilised to the extreme, providing a comfortable environment for employees and users of the space.
